Asus Eee Keyboard

The history of the Asus Eee Keyboard starts to remind of the Optimus Maximus, delays and more delays that cause users to start to get tired of waiting so long.

According to the manager, the continuing delays in the release are because they are trying to improve the product, expected to be launched to the market at a price between $ 500 and $ 600. new 10-inch EeePC asus

Asus prepares three new models in its 10-inch EeePC family, we have the first pictures of them and some of their innovative specifications. The new netbooks will be known as Asus EeePC 1015P, 1016P and 1018P.

We establish a first division, as the 1016P and 1018P models will have a higher quality finish, and apparently better specifications, while the EeePC 1015P model seems to be the natural replacement of 1005P. All have a design that we really got the opportunity to learn in detail during the next CEBIT.

Asus EeePC 1018P

The Asus EeePC 1018P is a very elegant model, we can see it in the image that starts the story, is built with an aluminum frame of 18 mm thick, less even than models such as the 1008P. It has a fingerprint reader, and like the rest of his brothers use a separate keyboard Chiclet keys.

Asus N71JV dual Optimus NVidia graphics and technology in Spain in March

Asus N71JV dual Optimus NVidia

Optimus NVIDIA filed this week painted really well for use in portable equipment. While we wait for the various manufacturers are encouraged to submit their respective models, we already have the information from one of the first to reach the market: the Asus N71JV.

More specifically will the Asus model N71JV-TY033V that hit the market with some pretty powerful features: Intel Core i5 430 at 2.4 GHz, dual core with hyperthreading (the operating system will run 4 threads), 4 GB of DDR3 and 640 GB hard drive running at 5400 rpm.

X Asus N71JV

Perhaps most interesting is the graph, an NVidia GT 325M new generation thanks to NVidia Optimus will alternate with the GPU inside the Intel Core processor. The screen is 17.3 inches and has a resolution of 1600 × 900 pixels, perhaps a little short for that size. Also very interesting is the arrival of USB 3.0 built into the computer, along with eSATA, card reader and six-cell battery (should see the term a priori is not very great, despite the benefits of Optimus).

The new Asus NVidia N71JV with Optimus and of course the two graphics cards, one dedicated and one integrated market will be launched in Spain in March for a price of 979 euros, not too expensive when you consider its power in all the senses, besides Optimus technology is a complete novelty in the sector as well as USB 3.0 which is still available in very few models.

Asus wants a media center that connects wirelessly to the TV

asus

Asus, which seems to be the only use of this option, you are thinking of placing one of their media centers, predictably great O! Play, a new technology released a few days ago the company Taifatech.

The TF600 is a link between the computer and the TV that sends information using Ethernet, powerline or wireless. The price of this equipment is $ 100, so any system that integrates its price increases significantly. Asus has thought about integrating it into a media center, but it is speculated that Acer wants to implement in their notebooks directly.

This equipment allows Taifatech transmit 1080p video and lets us connect to TV peripherals like keyboards, knobs to play or microphones and webcam, which control the computer operating system that are connected wirelessly to the big screen classics.

This type of device comes into direct battle with Intel’s solution (HW), with the advantage Taifatech model, working with different processors and graphics solutions.

Asus DR-750, and first official images of the model DR-950

asus DR-750

The model you see on these lines is the Asus DR-950, we talked about it a few days ago but we had the same quality images, at last we are ready to share and to confirm its specifications. But the story really interesting is that Asus is preparing a third e-book reader, the Asus DR-750.

We remind you that the first announcement was starred in a reader smaller than usual with color screen and OLED technology, the Asus DR-570. He then showed us rendered images and specifications of that DR-950, a more conventional, with nine-inch grayscale.

The next and latest development now is the Asus DR-750, I would describe as an intermediate device, and which has a 5.7 inch touch screen and greyscale (16 levels), the chosen resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels and has a screen refresh 0.03 seconds.

Other known specifications of the new reader is its 4GB of memory storage, 412MB of RAM, and a weight of 200 grams. In short we could say that the Asus DR-750 comes as an affordable version of the model with OLED screen, which will soon enter the market and make it a little affordable price, as the screens of more than 4-inch OLED technology is not being manufactured in bulk and are really expensive.

Asus DR-950
We have a fairly complete gallery on the Asus DR-950 with the awareness that this Reader 9 inches, which is positioned as a direct rival of the Kindle, with two important differences: it is an open system when playing content (EPUB, PDF, HTML, RSS, MP3, etc) and has the ability to surf the Internet.

From a design standpoint is not very different from other operators already on the market, so they have to play with their interesting specifications such as WiFi or 3G connectivity, we hope that its use does not do much harm to autonomy. The device has SD card reader (4GB included).

No doubt where the device makes the difference in the ability to surf the Internet, I would like more information, but I’m imagining features such as access email and use the onscreen virtual keyboard and input method.

Updated
The latest news coming from the UK are that will be available in April in its territory, and that Asus is still adjusting the settings of the final product. It is reported that will cost approximately 250 pounds (285 euros) inclusive. Not bad, every new information comes to us makes us see a more competent rival to the Kindle DX.

Asus DR-950, an electronic book reader that surfs the Internet

asus DR-950

Yesterday I showed you Asus’s interest in entering the world of electronic books with a device like the Asus DR-570, a special thanks to both its AMOLED screen. Today we can confirm their intentions with the introduction of another model of traditional court, known as Asus DR-950 .

The device in question has a 9-inch screen (1024 × 768 pixels), and away from the adventure of color presented in the DR-570, we return to a conventional technology of electronic ink, with 16 gray levels, developed by Sipix.

Despite not be as innovative as its small companion, Asus does not want the DR-950 is only an eBook reader, because with it you can surf the Internet, and make us a complete translation dictionary with options real time (upgradeable).

The device has a web browser that will work in portrait or landscape mode, a handy RSS reader to be a day of news, and to avoid problems in data entry, a virtual on-screen keyboard and handwriting recognition.

A section to note is the use of technology Svox engine, which provides reading of texts in 26 different languages. I have no such clear possibilities of voice recognition, but will keep you informed.

No date has been established to market, nor price has been discussed, but we can share some technical specifications:

Dimensions: 222 × 161 × 9 mm / Weight: 370 grams.
* WiFi and HSPA connectivity (WiMax optional).
* 3.5 mm jack and dual stereo speakers.
* 4GB (2GB) of internal memory, expandable via SDHC cards.

The Asus EeeTop NVidia with Ion 2

asus eee PC ion 2

The new products with NVidia Ion 2, the new platform you should see the light in the coming months and begin to see the light. This time we talk about the Asus EeeTop, one of the most gave nettops to speak in the past generation.

The ET2010 is left to see in an ad for a pamphlet advertising, showing NVidia Ion 2 in all its glory. The graph is a G310 NVidia and Intel Atom processor a D510 belongs to the latest releases. No data for the remaining specifications, even the price, but we can assume some of the specifications: support for CUDA and PhysX, HDMI, Integrated Audio and others.

What to expect from NVIDIA Ion 2? If the first version was really successful because of excellent performance under multimedia tasks. This second version will be even more powerful but possibly consume a little more, because a TDP in the Intel micros is now greater. A priori we know that will launch for small teams, lounge-type computers, netbooks and even desktops low yield.

As for the price nothing is yet confirmed, but possibly with NVidia products Ion 2 is placed on what we saw at the launch of the first products with the first version of Ion. We would talk about 500 or 600 euros, depending on the specific version and the final specifications. Let us consider for example the ET2002T which went on sale back in August.
