After making the leap to high definition, the next frontier to conquer is the three-dimensionality in the games. So they take from the Japanese company Sony, which has detailed in its strategic plan intended to make the current PlayStation 3 is compatible with the 3D emission system before the end of 2010. This should prepare a firmware after the download and installation in the console titles allow developed based on this system on a screen could be prepared for it.

It catches us by surprise. In recent months Sony has not hidden his enthusiasm for this project (first at IFA 2009, and shortly thereafter at the Tokyo Game Show 2009). In both events, representatives of the company had detailed Japan’s achievements in this regard the intention of giving the PS3 compatibility with the issuance of three-dimensional content. But until now, never been materialized this project with dates and plans.

Parallel to the future firmware update that would make this ahead, Sony aims to launch a variety of titles to experiment with this system. Although the big problem will come when users discover that they have no screens ready to enjoy 3D. And is that for the invention do not leave the honey on the lips, it should also have a TV with an image refresh rates of 120 hertz, at least. Today, marketing is becoming popular screen with a scan rate above 50 hertz (in PAL) and 60 hertz, even (for NTSC broadcasts).

However, the acquisition of screens often change from 120 Hz or more may be beyond the scope of many of the pockets of gamers that is intended to upgrade. Thus, what the user will save switching platform to learn this new technology would have to spend on a TV which, coincidentally, we suspect that might coincide with a future sales campaign for Sony screens prepared for this system.
