Malaga has been proposed to improve energy conservation in homes. To do this, Habitec Foundation has developed an energy rating and application of renewable energy for homes.
Malaga intends to improve its energy efficiency. To do this, Habitec Foundation (Center for Technological Innovation for ICT, Energy and Construction), which is in the Technology Park of Malaga, is implementing a guide for builders and architects, in order that homes can be built using renewable energy and will also include a guide that would achieve greater energy savings at home.
The idea of improving the energy efficiency of the Andalusian city was drawn up thinking architects and builders who, thanks to this guide you can build more sustainable homes.
Furthermore, as stated by the manager of the Habitat Foundation, Jose Luis Casado, is implemented a network of heat with the intention to extend the Technological Park of Andalusia. This new plan, which is already part of the “Distric Energy”, will be led by the Andalusian Institute of Technology (AIT).
Habitec Foundation is a nonprofit organization, which consists of companies in the energy sector, construction and technology and the University of Malaga. As expressed by Casado, the project “Distric Energy” will be produced and controlled thermal energy. Thus, households manage to be supplied by a network that serves to transport energy in the form of water or steam.
Moreover, Habitec is working on a project on bio-refineries and chemical production of fuel from urban organic waste. This is a project run by the group AZVI.
Moreover, during the course of 2010, will begin to implement other projects as “eco-neighborhoods” and “Study and Prototyping of Building Automation and Control in Energy Systems.”
The main objective is that the houses in Malaga are embedded in renewable energy and to achieve greater energy savings.
