Sooner or later I had to get the good news. With the introduction of Android, Google’s operating system for mobile phones, and its policy of open source could reach the true democratization of the art terminal. A democracy that eliminates the requirement to spend fortunes on these devices or tied to contractual commitments which would put the hair-raising himself lord of Averno. The closure has been opened by the Korean manufacturer Samsung, who has announced the launch of a policy of selling Android mobile for not more than $ 100 (about 70 euros at current exchange).
The strategy of the Asian giant responds to lower costs which presumably goes to the operating system’s use of Google Mobile. Being an open source software is completely free of licensing fees and provides greater flexibility in handling its architecture to fit different models of handsets.
The only question that remains to be cleared would be the way it is going to implement this strategy. On the one hand, some people are wary about the ad, saying it was some kind of manipulation and that the news will somehow linked to the subsidy of the phone by the operator to the market (something similar to what Apple did when began selling the iPhone 3G and announced it would cost zero euros). On the other hand, there are voices who believe that optimism is the free phone use with a specific operator, in which case it would be a brutally competitive price for a device with the features that serves Android.
